Fishing season runs from 15th February to 12th October .The lakes of Killarney have a population of good sized trout ,Salmon and seatrout. So I am reliably told by an avid fisherman, (my brother). Large brown trout can be caught on Lough Leane which is 4,500 acres with large artificial bait. Access is good through the lakes and boats and guides are available, with O Neills tackle shop close by in Killarney to give any permits and all other services for the Lakes .
